HomEvidence

Know what you own. Be able to prove it.

Photograph a belonging and HomEvidence identifies it, prices it and files it by room. When you need the evidence — a claim, a move, a dispute — it's already a document.

The problem

The list you'll need is the one you never made.

Insurers pay on evidence. After a fire, a burglary or a flood, the question is always the same: what did you own, what was it, what was it worth. Nobody answers that from memory — and the parts people forget are exactly the parts that carry value.

Serial numbers

You will not remember the serial number of a television you no longer own.

Purchase dates

You will not remember what you paid for a sofa in 2019.

Model variants

The difference between two model numbers can be hundreds of dollars of claim value.

Replacement cost

What it costs to buy again today is rarely what you paid for it.

Receipts

Somewhere in an email archive, a drawer, or a bin months ago.

Warranties

The cover you paid for, expiring quietly while you assume it still applies.

Your camera roll isn't an inventory. Your spreadsheet stopped at row 12.

Into the right room, with the photo attached, counting toward your totals. Add the serial number and receipt whenever you like.

Features

Everything the claim will ask for.

Twelve categories with insurer-style useful-life assumptions, per-item serial numbers, conditions, currencies, tags and notes — all organised as properties, rooms and items.

Point-and-shoot identification

A server-class vision model reads the label on the back — name, category, brand, model, and a replacement-value range with a confidence score.

Rapid room capture

Burst-photograph a whole room, then review the queue as a deck of cards. The deck survives a restart — nothing is lost mid-shoot.

Receipt scanning

Reads price, purchase date and serial number, each as a switch. It fills blanks; it never overwrites a number you typed.

Dashboard and coverage

Total value, room breakdown, what needs a photo or a price — every count a filter you can tap, never an invented score.

Lending tracker

Record who has what and since when. Lent items still count toward your totals and are disclosed in your exported PDF.

Warranty reminders

A date, not a duration, with a reminder before it expires. Expired warranties don't nag you forever.

Search and filters

Across every room and property, with state filters like needs review, missing a photo, or lent out.

CSV export, free forever

Every field, including tags, lending and depreciated line totals. The CSV is your working copy.

Local-first storage

Your inventory lives on your phone and works in a basement, a garage, or on a plane. No spinner between you and your own data.

Valuation

Insurers pay one of two numbers. We show you both.

Replacement cost is what it takes to buy the thing again today. Actual cash value is that, less depreciation for the years you had it.

Which one your policy pays is the single most consequential line in it — and most inventories only ever show you one. HomEvidence depreciates from what you actually paid, over the useful life insurers use for that category, down to a salvage floor that is never zero, and labels exactly how many of your items had enough information to calculate it.

The payoff

A document, not a screenshot.

Room by room, with photos, serial numbers, per-room subtotals and both value totals. Your policy number and insurer on the cover. Receipts in an appendix. Lent-out items marked and disclosed. It exports in seconds and it reads like something an adjuster has seen before.

  • Room-grouped with per-room subtotals
  • Replacement and depreciated totals, each labelled with its coverage
  • Receipts attached as an appendix
  • Every export recorded in your history

PDF export is a Pro feature. CSV export is free, forever.

Privacy

Precisely what leaves your phone.

We could have written “nothing ever leaves your device”. It would have been a nicer sentence and it would have been a lie. Here is exactly what happens.

  1. 1

Your inventory stays on your phone.

Names, values, notes, your photo library — all of it is stored locally and is not uploaded unless you switch on backup, which is off by default.

  2. 2

One photo leaves, per scan, to be recognised.

It is processed and discarded — not stored, not used to train anything. Nothing else goes with it: not your item names, not your values, not your notes.

  3. 3

Identification is metered, so a private anonymous account is created for it.

It holds no personal details — no email, no name, no phone number.

  4. 4

Turn on backup and your inventory syncs to a private account only you can read.

Photos live in a private bucket that is never public. Turning it off stops all uploads. No advertising. No third-party trackers. Analytics are opt-in.

The position

We don't invent numbers.

Every number in HomEvidence is either something you entered, something we read off your receipt, or an estimate labelled as one. There are no scores, no grades, and nothing we made up to make the app feel clever.

No completeness percentage — we don't know how much is in your living room.

No risk scores — a number we invented, printed next to an insurance document, is worse than nothing.

No gamification, no milestones, no streaks — this is not a game.

No currency conversion — a made-up exchange rate is worse than none.

AI confidence is clamped when no label is legible, and the item is flagged for you to check.

The AI never guesses specifics, and a failed identification shows an error — never a made-up answer.

Day to day

Built for how you live.

Lending

Who has your drill, and since when. Lent items still count — they're still yours, still insured.

Warranties

Tracked as dates with reminders before expiry, so cover never lapses unnoticed.

Multiple properties

Home, rental, storage unit — each with its own rooms, totals and exports. A Pro feature.

Multiple currencies

Every item records the currency it was bought in. Mixed totals are disclosed honestly — 8.499,00 TL is read as 8,499 lira, not 8.50.

Pricing

Twenty-five items free. The AI is never rationed.

Identification is what makes the app feel like magic, and metering the magic would trade the entire first impression for fractions of a cent. The item cap is the limit; the intelligence is not.

FAQ

Honest answers.

Yes. Your inventory is stored on your phone and every screen reads from it locally. The one thing that needs a connection is identifying a new photo — everything else, including manual entry, editing, search and CSV export, works offline.

Only the one photo you're scanning, and only to be recognised. It is processed and discarded — not stored, not used to train models. Your inventory itself — names, values, notes, your photo library — stays on the device unless you turn on backup.

Not to use the app. Identification is metered, so an anonymous account is created for it in the background; it holds no personal details. Cloud backup, if you turn it on, uses that same private account.

With Pro's cloud backup on, sign in on the new device and your inventory comes back. Without it, the inventory lives only on that phone — which is the trade-off for staying entirely local, and it is why backup is the feature we charge for.

One property, three rooms, twenty-five items — plus unlimited AI identification, batch capture, receipt scanning, warranty reminders, the lending tracker, tags, the dashboard and CSV export. The paid tier removes the caps and adds the insurance PDF and cloud backup.

No. The free tier is the trial and it doesn't expire. We'd rather you catalogue a room and decide than start a countdown.

They are estimates for documentation, not an appraisal. Where an item's label is unreadable the app lowers its own confidence and flags the item for you to check. Every value is editable, and the ones you type always win.

Yes, free. It extracts the price, date and serial number and shows you each one as a switch before anything is written. It never overwrites something you typed.

It is a clear, room-by-room record with photos, identifiers, dates and both value bases — the information an adjuster asks for. We are not an insurer or an appraisal service and we can't guarantee any claim outcome; what we can do is make sure you have the evidence when you're asked for it.

A spreadsheet needs you to type the name, the category, the value and the room for every one of four hundred things. This needs you to take a photograph. And a spreadsheet has no photos, no depreciation, no warranty dates, and doesn't produce a document.

Yes, on Pro. Each property has its own rooms, totals and exports.

Each item records its own. Totals are labelled by what they're made of, and if your inventory is mixed the app says so rather than converting at a rate it made up.

In your App Store settings, like any subscription. It runs to the end of the period you paid for. Nothing local is ever at risk — your inventory stays on your phone whatever your plan.

The hour you spend today is the one that pays for itself.

Start with a room. Twenty-five items are free, and the AI is never rationed.
